Terherne is located in the heart of the Frisian lake with the Sneekermeer in the west and the Terkaplesterpoelen on the east of the village. The area is through the many and varied rivers, streams and lakes suitable for sailing and motor boating. From Terherne several day trips are possible with destinations like Akkrum, Grou, Oldeboarn, Irnsum, Sneek, Goingaryp and Joure. It's all within a sailing range of 2 hours. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery and the unique bird wildlife.
But it is also an excellent base for sailors; Rent one of our sailing day boats or motor boats and sail on the quiet and sheltered pools or for the rougher work on the Sneekermeer.
